Papa and Mama

Did you ever have any idea what would someone look like 10-20 years from now? As for Denden, I do. Because of my ever handsome and always smelling good, father-in-law, Papa Renren. Adapted from how Ikoy called him, Tito Renren.

Papa Renren would always welcome me with a smile on his face and even if he's just wearing Sando, shorts and slippers from the "Tindahan," he still smells good.

Mama Helen would never run out of stories when we see them. Even if stories are repeated over and over again. I think it's her way of connecting. And she has her own subtle way of asking 'how am I doing' and somehow showing that she cares.

Mama and Papa. I admire their simplicity in life. Amidst their hardwork, they do not seem to worry. They live a day one step at a time and they would set aside days where they would enjoy the fruits of their labor. Yes, they've earned it. Indeed, I am lucky to have them as my second parents.

Wakeboarding

We tried wakeboarding at Lago de Oro with friends a couple of weeks back.

His first try was a failure. But before his second try, I screamed, "I know you can do it, maiisip mo kung pano!" And I was right! He was able to think of how to balance himself and he reached the end, with the "almost-turn", on his second attempt. I cheered him on until the end, I was very proud of him!

That's who he is-- a very logical person. That's how he is-- he believes that there is a proper way to do everything. This comes with the chronological step-by-step procedure and with the right tools, if applicable.

As for me, my three or so, attempts to wakeboard was a failure. But we had fun.

These Are Not Shoes

They're Sandals. These is what's placed on the tags of these footwear. This is my latest favorite and by far, my favorite of my favorites: things that I wear with my feet.

My definition of my comfy shoes are either slippers, sandals or any shoes that doesn't have heels. I've had difficulty finding closed-shoes that are comfortable, but when I had my first Sanuk sandal, my feet were the happiest.

Sanuk is actually a surf brand, the maker of Sanuk sandals is a surfer who just wanted a pair of comfortable shoes with unique designs. "Pursuit of happiness," this is what Sanuk means. Sanuk believes that it starts with your feet. If they're happy, they make your legs, hips, stomach and your whole body happy. Thus, happy feet take you to happy places.

Sanuk has a growing range of styles and designs. Most are unisex, but they also have gender-specific styles to fit one's preference.

I tried and tested mine, in short and longs walks, my feet won't sore. In hot environment, mine has holes so air could go in and out. It could stand cold environment as well. When it rains and it gets wet, I didn't mind because I didn't feel uneasy. After all, it was originally meant to be worn on a beach.

When Ikoy got his pair, it finally convinced Papa to have his own pair. We're Sanuk family now.
