Plants vs Zombies

Just documenting the longest I've been to Plants vs Zombies Survival:Endless. Yes, I've been addicted to this game for some time.
Note1: I did not play this in one sitting. I've been saving the game for a few months and just played when I had nothing else to do.
Note2: I did not cheat. I did not have unlimted sun.

Reminiscing with Churros Con Chocolate

When I was little, I spend summer vacations at my grandparents' house in Labo. This is in La Loma, Quezon City. I look forward to these days because I get to spend time with Mamang, Daddy, Tita Bebe, my other Tito's and Tita's, my cousins and my favorite cousin, Ate Deeday.

Ate Deeday. Yes, she was the Ate that I look up to. She had all the toys that I never had, Barbie/s with a big doll house, with all the clothes, shoes and accessories. She had the complete series of the Nancy Drew books. We were partners in crime and we would stay up late doing anything we want. I also get to go with them on Ate's voice lessons in Yamaha, SM North Edsa/Centerpoint. Or watch her Tae Kwon Do lessons. Usually, I would just wait and watch. Afterwards, we eat and they treat me. Tita and Ate would always have favorite restaurants that I never knew. Back then, dining out means eating a one-piece fried chicken and rice on a specific fast-food chain.

Thus, it's Tita and Ate who introduced me to Dulcinea. Dulcinea has been around since 1960's and they serve mostly Spanish-Fusion menu combined. I liked their deserts: cakes, cream puff and eclair. But their famous Churros Con Chocolate is the best! As a child then, I loved it and looked forward to the days when Tita or Ate would crave for Churros.

Today, we passed by Dulcinea and decided to have desert there. Since it is the "Love-Month", the churros were heart-shaped and looked extra-special. As I dipped each one and took a bite on cruncy thinly fried pastry, memories of my childhood days in La Loma came back to me. Feeling like a child again, as I savored the bittersweet chocolate dip, there was also this tinge in my heart, mostly because of the happy thoughts and memories back then.

Frutti Froyo

Mama Cherub's birthday gift to Ikoy, yogurt with all the toppings that he wants. Where else but Frutti Froyo, our favorite. This is the best yogurt place for us, because of the concept of make-your-own-yogurt. They have a lot of choices for the flavored yogurts, aside from the plain. Also, a wide variety of toppings: from cereals, nuts, chocolates, candies to fruits. With a number of flavored syrups to add to the final taste. We also love the colorful decorations and creative chairs and tables on the store.

Ikoy was free to choose which topping he wanted, he was so excited to put his cup on top of the sweet toppings and chocolates.

One thing to describe his creation: sugary. But he finished it in no time. It looked like a party for a the birthday boy because of the hats. We promise to make up to him when he's seven, when Shashing is back in Manila.

Teddy Coaster

Ikoy had a Mr. Bean Bear he once brought from their house. Teddy has an "X" in his eyes, because of the button-effect. That night, he slept with Teddy by his side, then in the morning he talked to me.

Ikoy: Nuni, pwede mo ba ako ibili ng bear walang X sa eyes?
Me: Bakit?
Ikoy: Kasi si Teddy may X sa eyes. Kapag night na, natatakot ako sa X sa eyes nya e.

So for his birthday, I saw this cute little brown bear that has normal eyes. And gave it to him. He immediately grabbed it and I was happy he liked it. He even took Mr. Potatohead's eyeglasses and told me he was borrowing it for the bear. I asked what will be the bear's name.

Ikoy: Teddy!
Me: Teddy na naman? Diba may bear ka na Teddy? Isip kang ibang name.
Ikoy: Umm.. umm.. umm.. Alam ko na! Teddy Coaster.

Thus the name.
He had one more question.

Ikoy: Nuni, si Teddy Coaster ba girl or boy?

I laughed and told him it was a boy.
If I could copy-paste a person from my life, it will definitely be little baby boy.

Love and Other Drugs

An addition to my favorite movies, Love and Other Drugs is about an "almost-perfect-but-isn't-aware-that-he-is guy" and a girl with Parkinson's disease.

I could relate to the fact that Jake Gyllenhaal's role is a medical representative, because my mom and my sister had/have the same profession.

The movie revolves around their journey to finding love and falling in love in the least expected circumstances. The last conversation made me cry.

Jamie: Unfortunately, I need you and you need me.
Maggie: No I don't...
Jamie: Yes you do... you need someone to take care of you.
Maggie: No I don't...
Jamie: Everybody does.
Maggie: I'm going to need you more than you need me.
Jamie: That's okay.
Maggie: No, it's not!! It isn't fair. I have places to go.
Jamie: You'll go there. I just may have to carry you.
Maggie: I can't ask you to do that...
Jamie: You didn't.. Let's just say, in some alternate universe, there's a couple that's just like us. Only she's healthy and he's perfect and their world is about how much money they're gonna spend on vacation, who's on a mad mood that day or whether he'll give it you on having a cleaning lady... I don't wanna be those people. I want us. You. This.

Sometimes the thing you want most doesn't happen and sometimes the thing you never expect to happen, does... I don't know - you meet thousands of people and none of them really touch you. And then you meet one person and your life is changed. Forever.

Bonchon Chicken

Chinese New Year dinner last night,we were thinking of where to eat. And Bamba came up with a bright idea, Bonchon Chicken. I remember that this is Shashing and Kuya Shosh's favorite in Singapore but I never had a chance to taste it. I'm surprised that we now have it here in Manila. And glad, at the same time.

Super yummy Soy Chicken! A different kind of "fried" chicken because of the unusual taste. Said to be healthier. With a reasonable prices.

Sure to be one included on my list happy foods.

Dog Factory

During the first week of December, Ginger gave birth to six puppies. We call their breed, "Labraskals." Because they are a mixture of Ginger and Gabi, a mongrel and a Labrador.

A few weeks later, it was Casper's turn. She had three. So, for almost two months now, we have been raising nine baby puppies in the house! Plus the four adults and of course, the babiest baby, Yoquito(Yes, I have favoritism.). All in all, we have 14 dogs in the house.

One by one, we're giving the pups away for adoption, it was quite tough taking care of them all, but I can't help it if we're blessed with too many babies (just puppies at this time..).

I agree with Shashing, our house is a dog factory.
