My Favorite Lullaby song for my Favorite Baby Princess

A little love
That slowly grows and grows
Not one that comes and goes
That’s all I ask of you.

A sunny day
To look up to the sky
A hand to guide me by
That’s all I ask of you.

Don’t let me down
Oh show me that you care
Remember when you give
You also get a share

Don’t let me down
I have to time to wait
Tomorrow might not come
By then will be too late.

Counting Blessings

I will start with one unfortunate event. I got a text message from one of the workers that the water tank, the first thing we bought for the house way back November, broke, because of an accident. We went to the site later that afternoon, we saw the almost Php 12,000.00 water tank. My heart broke. We can’t repair it and we’d have to buy a new one. We didn't think it could be covered by warranty. All the workers were in a sad mode and they were awfully quiet. I paused for a while then I said, “Huwag na kayong malungkot, ok lang yun.” If I knew myself better, I’d really be angry and disappointed. This time, I genuinely meant that it was alright. Denden and I talked on our way home and agreed that we’ll just arrange that with our contractor. But we need not let them pay for anything. It happened and nobody wanted it to happen.

That was just one unfortunate event versus that many blessings that we have received, and we are receiving. The second release of funds were approved and transferred. We got a memo that our whole street will be constructed so the road will be brand new at about the same time the brand new house is ready. It was actually one of the worst roads on the subdivision. Plus, plus, plus the stones and soil fillings from the road excavation was given to us free of charge. We badly needed about four load-full of dump trucks for our leveling and now, it's just literally on our doorstep, (that was almost a doorstep without the door).

Our contractor was so very kind and generous. Almost finished with the third level/attic. Started on the roof framing. And with the fencing of the two lots as well. The PVC windows that we ordered (for a very discounted price), were delivered today. Two more weeks passed and here is where we are so far.

So you see, counting your blessings is better than dwelling on the not so good things.

Ark Avilon

Ark Avilon is near Tiendesitas, beside The Fun Ranch. A miniature of the Avilon Zoo located in Montalban, Rizal. We decided to go to Ark Avilon instead, since it was late already. Entrance was Php 200.00 and it’s open until 8PM.

Don’t expect to see much since it’s just small. But there’s a white tiger, two bears, a lion, a jaguar, miniatures horses, sheep and lambs. There’s also a rabbit feeding station where you go inside the fence and you could feed the rabbits, we didn’t do this because there were rare white furry chickens with the rabbits.

You could also take pictures with a friendly orangutan, dressed in pink with matching pick Crocs, that would put her hand on your shoulder, even touch your legs. There is a small swamp with a bridge on it where a variety of ducks and turtles reside on one side. On the other is a crocodile.

It is recommended if you like to see an assortment of animals. Plus it’s just within the city. But if you wish to see more, the Avilon Zoo is the place.

It was worth it, even if we’re five adults with just one child. What’s important is we made the one child happy, especially if he just turned three. We just needed to explain that we can’t buy the white tiger.

Always Our Baby

Iko had a party at their house. He was very happy with his Cars Birthday cake. He wanted to get the cars and play with them even if he hasn’t blown the candle yet. He kept on tasting the icing, dipping his fingers on the cake, we had to cover it with cookies.

His advanced birthday gift was a bike. Bought the week earlier when Chalo was here. He was so excited when we told him we’re buying him a bike. When we reached the toy store and he eventually tried to ride a bike. He discovered he doesn’t know how to ride it, as if changing his mind, he said it was too big for him. “Laki Bike!” But the next day, he realized he really wanted a bike, so we got him one.

Bought him a fish also. We asked him what will be the name and he thought for a while and said, “Fish!” He was so amazed and kept on watching the red fighting fish in its little aquarium.

We brought him to the zoo the next day. So fascinated with the animals especially with the white tiger. We all laughed when he said he wanted to buy the tiger, “Bili, Tiger!”

At dinner, he was so happy when we asked the restaurant crew to sing to him the birthday song. He blew his birthday candle with all smiles on his face.

People often see us with him in different places, or see our pictures with him and they ask, who's baby is he, is he ours? my sisters'? Avoiding too many explanations that he isn't blood relative, I just smile and say, he's our baby. Honestly, I am glad that he grew a year older and we haven’t lost him. He will always be our baby.

Balloon-Head

Three years have passed.
For you, we are the ones who pick you up on Saturday mornings, to go to Papa’s house and play with your set of toys there. We have lunch and eat Papa's Sinigang. Then you take a bath and sleep. You’re excited to wake up because you know you’ll ride the car and we’ll go to the mall.

For you, this is us:
Laloy - the black Labrador in the cage.
Sam-sam - the brown Retriever that made you fear dogs.
Yoki - the Shih-tzu that loves to kiss.
Denden - the one with eyeglasses that you like to borrow; drives the black car to take you to malls.
Nuni - the one that you ask for milk, candies and chocolates; lets you play with her toys.
Chalo - the one you look forward to seeing because she’s always in Cebu.
Shashing - the one that you always wake up in her bed; gives you nice gifts even if it isn’t your birthday.
Bamba - the one with same haircut as yours; plays with you, sings and dances when you ask him to.

Mamalilub - the one you fear and love the most, at the same time.
Papa - the one and only father you know.

For us, you are still and always will be, an angel in our lives. We make you happy but you make us happier. You’re growing up so fast, learning more each weekend that we see you. Even if many things change as years pass, our love for you will always be there.

Happy third Birthday, Ballon-head Baby.
